The fool on the hill sees the sun going down.

And the eyes in his head see the world spinning round.

Bio

Hello! My name is Cerise (Marie Laroche). I am 18, a Hogwarts graduate and Ravenclaw Alumnus. Here's a Wee Bit About Me:

Wee Little Bit About Me(©. Hahaha!!)
_____________________________________
Cerise comes from a small family, born to a French wizard father and British muggle mother, and without any siblings. Her father, Armande, is a tall, angular man with shaggy red hair and rectangular spectacles framing his wide hazel eyes, and laugh lines curve delicately around his mouth. He was born in Marseille, France, where he lived until he was three with his pureblood parents. They moved to London just before he turned four, where they found a nice, spacious cottage to live in up at the North end. London has since then been his home and one of his favourite cities. He had a pampered childhood, but often eschewed the fancy wizarding toys his parents gave him in exchange for a good book and a quiet spot to sit. Armande was ecstatic when Cerise received her letter from Hogwart's when she was 11, having attended Hogwarts himself as a Ravenclaw. He currently works at the Ministry, in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, where he is the Head of the Werewolf Support Services Office; a very long title with very little prestige, but he likes what he does.

Cerise's mother, Evelyn is a short woman with ample hips and a slender waist, her eyes are blue and her wavy black hair comes down nearly to the small of her back, although she often has it in a simple up-do. She was born in Bristol when her parents were visiting relatives there, but was raised in her parents small, cozy bungalow in South London. She spent her childhood being read poetry and listening to classical music and jazz, and thus since an early age has had a love for the arts. She came to love big band music as a teenager and has never stopped since. She opened a cafe and bookstore in London's West End around 5 years ago, which has become rather popular. Most of her customers are wizards making their occasional ventures into the muggle world, as the shop accepts wizarding money, and they know they need not worry about arousing suspicion or breaking the International Code of Wizarding Secrecy; the owner being a very understanding muggle woman who is married to a wizard, after all! She often finds herself with wizards or witches keenly interested in muggles and all their 'technology' asking for books about 'fellytones' or 'airy-planes'. Evelyn thinks this is hilarious and tells them, "Honestly, we're not that interesting!"

One day, when Evelyn was 20, she was walking to a record shop in a busy district of Central London. As she was crossing the street, nearly at her destination, a car veered around the corner and headed at her full-boar, the driver obviously, as Evelyn would affectionately refer to him, "an absolute and total fucking prat". The car was less than two feet away from her when she felt a hand hurriedly clasp her wrist, and she found herself safely, and quite inexplicably, on the other side of the road. The vehicle had skidded to a halt in the middle of the street, exactly where she had been standing exactly 1 second before. She looked up at the gangly, red-haired man who was still clutching her wrist; his glasses crooked on his nose, his hair disheveled, but an expression of relief on his face. Evelyn cocked an eyebrow at him, smirked, and completely unfazed, said, "So, what are you then, a wizard?" Armande knew at that moment this would be the girl he'd marry. (Cerise thinks this is wonderful story.)

Cerise was raised in an old, lovely two storey house near her father's childhood home in the North End. Instilled in Cerise from childhood are her mother's love of music and culture, and her father's love of great literature and stories. As a child she had a very inquisitive nature, reading all she could in the family's cluttered study, or rather, all she could reach. Her father wasn't concerned about her being a squib; when she was 5, Cerise had decided one day, in the winter, that they should have a flower patch. When her parents tried to tell her it was far too cold to plant anything, she stubbornly went outside and jammed a sunflower seed into the frosty earth. The next day, an impossibly tall patch of many, bright yellow sunflowers greeted the family when they woke. When she was 7 she took her father's unattended wand off of the kitchen table and tried to recreate the wonderful charms he had shown her; Armande's wand, being very tempermental, shot sparks in her face instead. She still has a small scar on her left cheek from the incident. At 9, she had heard all of her mother's records at least 12 times each, and had read 3/4's of the books in their home's study. And at 11, her letter from Hogwarts came, and Cerise was absolutely thrilled that soon, she too would get to do great things with magic. The sorting hat took a bit longer than usual trying to sort her; it was unsure if she should be placed in Gryffindor or Ravenclaw. After weighing Cerise's traits and personality, the Hat decided upon Ravenclaw, although it assured her worrying mind that she was not at all cowardly, and she was being far too harsh on herself. "Stop fretting! This is why you're in Ravenclaw; you think too much. Silly girl."

Cerise is a clever, bookish girl; satirical and witty, and quick to crack jokes to relieve tension in a situation. She is slightly wary of strangers, but will warm up once she gets to know them, although her anxiety can flare up without much reason on occasion. She's anxious in new situations, or when there's lots of people around her whom she doesn't know. Cerise says she is a pacifist, but can be very spiteful and vindictive if someone deeply hurts her or one of her friends or family members. If someone mistreats anyone to whom she is close, she'll be quick to retaliate with some biting words and, if the situation calls for it, clenched fists. She's obviously very protective and loyal to her friends, and is very affectionate and kind. In her spare time (when she's not reading, writing, sketching, or listening to swing records), she attempts to create new spells or potions, not always with very much success. Cerise adores Hogwarts, and having only parted with it for just around a year now, still gets nostalgic for it. As a student she was primarily eccentric and silly, but she seems to have matured and changed a little as of late. Though she is absolutely not averse to joking around like she's always been known to do, she's now become a bit more analytical in her thinking and prone to bouts to of quiet contemplation (at least when left to her own devices). And, although a year ago she thought she would become a healer at Mungo's, she unexpectedly (to those around her, at least) entered into the Department of Mysteries after her completion at Hogwarts. She has officially completed her 'apprenticeship' (of sorts) and has taken up the specialty of "death, what follows it thereafter, and discerning the nature of both."

Oh my. That was far more than a wee little bit about me. Terribly sorry!

And this is a Wee Bit About How I Look:
_____________________________________
Cerise Marie Laroche is a lanky young woman of about 5'10", her arms and face dotted with freckles and her lengthy, auburn hair in loose ringlets. Her face is slender; her nose straight and slightly pointed, her cheekbones defined, her jaw angular, but not severe. Her large round eyes are a murky grey-blue, and there is a small, faded scar on her left cheek. She's slender, but her hips are ample and there are curves to her. She taps her foot a bit, as though full of an anxious sort of energy.

Cerise is clad in plain, but well stitched black robes that contrast well against her pale skin. Small, detailed, silver embroidery is visible at the collar and sleeves. Around her neck is a simple silver necklace, a shimmering, striped piece of moonstone hanging from the chain. She wears a large, garish blue ring on her index finger, that looks as though she may have gotten it from a muggle gum-ball machine. Her nails are long and unkempt; a couple look a bit chewed and torn.

Cerise sees you peering at her and scratches the back of her neck, looking awkward and smiling sheepishly.

Of course, I AM NOT REALLY CERISE. I am ROBIN. And this is my character journal for Cerise Marie Laroche, who I play on the Hogwart's Express MUSH. I OWN NOTHING! Except these words. That's about it.
